聖言會150周年慶典 「見證主光，宣揚百方」150th Anniversary Celebration of The Society of the Divine Word “Witnessing to the Light: from Everywhere for Everyone.”
本校辦學團體 聖言會 自1875年成立以來，跨越文化、語言與地域，持續將福音帶到世界各地。適逢聖言會成立150 周年，會方於9月7日 在銅鑼灣基督君王小堂舉行慶典暨感恩祭，由香港教區主教周守仁樞機主禮。全場座無虛席，聖言會會士、教區神職人員、修會團體及眾多教友齊聚一堂。許校長及多位師生亦一同參與慶典。
周樞機於講道中藉已故教宗方濟各之言，勉勵修會和信眾信靠天主，共議同行、和衷共濟。本校校監 張明德神父 以聖言會港澳區會長身份致辭，以是次聖言會150周年慶典的主題「見證主光，宣揚百方」講述天主對聖言會自成立以來的召叫與祝福。彌撒後設有茶聚，本校管樂團並獲邀參與演出，大獲嘉賓讚賞；另外還有不同種族信友預備特色食物及表演，讓慶典平添喜樂。
The school sponsoring body, The Society of the Divine Word (SVD), has been spreading God’s words and love across continents and nationalities since 1875. To celebrate its 150th anniversary, a Thanks Giving Mass was held at Christ the King Chapel, Causeway Bay on 7th September. The Mass was presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Stephen Chow Sau-yan, the Bishop of Hong Kong. Our School Principal, Dr Hui Chi-kuen, together with teachers and students, had the honour of attending the Mass.
After the homily of Cardinal Chow, Father Johnson Dhos SVD, our School Supervisor and Regional Superior of Hong Kong and Macau, shared with guests the Society’s founding by Saint Arnold Janssen back on 8th September 1875, as well as the congregation’s legacy across the world.
After the Mass, light refreshments consisting of various ethnic dishes were served by friends of the Society. Performances of different kinds added to this already joyous occasion. The Sing Yin Brass Band was invited to perform in the event, which was welcomed by the guests.
