聖言中學開學禮及聖言會創會150周年慶典：承傳信仰，培育美德 First Day of School and the 150th Anniversary of the Divine Word Missionary

於本學年伊始，本校舉行了兩次祈禱會，為全體師生注入信仰力量，並紀念修會的悠久歷史。

開學祈禱禮儀：以真福傅喬治為榜樣

九月一日開學日，全校師生齊聚一堂，舉行莊嚴的開學祈禱禮儀，由校監張明德神父主禮。為響應本年度學校關注事項「培養學生正確的價值觀及引導學生發揮潛能與抱負」，校監在講道中特別提及一位即將於九月七日在梵蒂岡冊封為聖人的意大利青年——真福傅喬治（Pier Giorgio Frassati）。

校監介紹道，真福傅喬治是一位樂觀幽默的天主教徒，更被尊奉為運動員的主保。他熱愛大自然，每次行山時總不忘停下來誦唸玫瑰經，將壯麗的自然景觀轉化為祈禱之所。他深信信仰應充滿喜樂與力量，並樂於與人分享。校監藉此提醒在場學生，切勿虛耗光陰，應多做有意義的事，且不應害怕面對困難，因為我們從不孤單，天主時刻與我們同在。只要我們恆心祈禱，信靠上主，必能獲得祂的幫助。此外，校監鼓勵同學們效法真福傅喬治樂於助人的精神，慷慨地將所有分贈予有需要的人，因為唯有擁抱慈悲之心，方能成為真正的基督徒，活出基督的教導。

許志權校長則主持聚會的第二部份，他勉勵同學於新學年努力向上，克盡己任，發揮潛能。校長亦介紹並歡迎新加入聖言中學大家庭的幾位老師。

聖言會創會150周年感恩禮儀：薪火相傳的使命

適逢聖言會於1875年9月8日聖母誕辰瞻禮日成立，為慶祝修會創會150周年這個歷史性時刻，本校特別於9月5日舉行了創會紀念感恩禮儀。是次禮儀同樣由校監張明德神父主禮，並榮幸邀請到聖神婢女傳教會的柯文妮修女、穆雅妮修女及溫元修女蒞臨分享。三位修女簡介了聖言會在世界各地的傳教工作，讓師生對修會跨越世紀的廣闊福傳使命有了更深刻的認識，並感受聖言會多年工作的豐碩成果。

At the beginning of this academic year, the school held two prayer meetings to instill faith in all teachers and students and to commemorate the long history of the Divine Word Missionary.

On 1 September, the first day of school, all teachers and students gathered for a solemn opening prayer meeting presided over by school supervisor Fr Johnson. In response to this year’s school major concerns,"" Fr Johnson highlighted the life of an Italian youth, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, who would be canonized as a saint at the Vatican on 7 September.

Fr Johnson introduced Blessed Frassati as an optimistic and humorous Catholic, also revered as the patron saint of athletes. He loved nature and never failed to pause during hikes to recite the Rosary, transforming the magnificent natural scenery into a place of prayer. He firmly believed that faith should be filled with joy and strength and was always eager to share it with others. Fr Johnson reminded students not to waste time but to engage in meaningful activities and not to fear difficulties, for we are never alone—God is always with us. As long as we persevere in prayer and trust in the Lord, we will receive His help. Additionally, Fr Johnson encouraged students to emulate Blessed Frassati’s spirit of helping others, generously sharing what they have with those in need. Only by embracing a compassionate heart can one become a true Christian and live out the teachings of Christ.

The second half of the meeting was presided over by Dr. Hui, the school principal. He encouraged all students to strive for excellence and fulfil their potential in the coming year. He also introduced and welcomed the newly joined teaching staff members.

Coinciding with the founding of the Society of the Divine Word on 8 September 1875, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the school held a special anniversary thanksgiving ceremony on 5 September to celebrate this historic milestone of the religious order’s 150th anniversary. The ceremony was also presided over by school supervisor Fr Johnson and honored by the presence of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit, including Sr Weronika Maria Klebba, Sr Ruth Francisca Mulyani, and Sr Vera Wen Yuan. The three sisters introduced the missionary work of the Society of the Divine Word around the world, giving teachers and students a deeper understanding of the order’s century-spanning mission of evangelization and allowing them to appreciate the fruitful outcomes of the Society’s work over the years.
